Nightline is a national student-run listening service. Many Universities have their own branches of Nightline, so follow that link to find your nearest Nightline service, or have a look on your University's Students' Union webpages for contact details (Local Nightlines usually free or subsidised phone call-back on local landlines, and e-mail support)

BBC Headroom - advice on eating, pdf and mp3 downloads etc on well-being and looking after yourself (including eating well at Uni!)

Mental Health Foundation website with excellent mp3 downloads fro Stress/relaxation, well-being an in particular links to relevant downloads are available from this page

There are at present 30 Nightlines running nationwide and this link shows a map with them all listed.

The aim of these links is to offer you one or two practical sites, which will offer help and further links for various problem areas. It does not aim to be comprehensive. If you find we have omitted an obvious link or included an unhelpful one, please contact us.

  MIND - Generally very informative about mental health issues; particularly recommended for its booklets section where the excellent "How to..." and "Understanding ..." series can be viewed in PDF format

Comprehensive, evidence-based information about depression and its treatment (including medical, psychological and alternative therapies). BluePages also includes interactive depression and anxiety quizzes, descriptions of the experience and symptoms of depression, a relaxation download, and extensive resources for help. Participation is free and anonymous.

Online support group for people affected by depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and borderline personality disorder. It aims to destigmatise mental disorders, and to provide support, hope and opportunities for consumers and carers to share successful coping strategies. The group is moderated by consumers with clinician support and strict protocols to enhance safety. Participation is free and anonymous

A popular interactive program that teaches cognitive-behaviour therapy skills for preventing and coping with depression. MoodGYM has been extensively researched and its effectiveness has been demonstrated in randomised controlled trials. Participation is free and anonymous.

e-hub’s latest interactive self-help program includes modules for social anxiety, generalised anxiety and depression. It provides self-help training drawn from cognitive, behavioural and interpersonal therapies as well as relaxation and exercise. Participation is free and anonymous.  Modules for panic disorder, bereavement and relationship breakdown will be deployed in 2010

Provides consumers and professionals with information about e-health online applications for mental health and physical health disorders.
